United States resident moving to Germany ?

If I wanted to and adapted well with the language, etc. Could I move to Germany? I want to get out of here before the economy gets worse.

You would have to apply for a work and residence visa…very hard to get. If you are a permanent resident in the U.S., and not a citizen, you would be sacrificing your permanent resident status and not be able to return to the U.S. The economy of nations is cyclic…goes up and down every few years…in ALL countries. Are you going to move from country to country your whole life , running away from one situation to another…which will then have its own ups and downs?

Don’t believe Roki. He or she is talking crap about Germany, someone who has no idea. He/she is against Germany. Look at his/her other answers. Although these are private (wants to hide – hahaha) but you can spot them easily when looking after the German flag in the picture.

In which field would you like to work? when we know that we can tell you if it´s even worth thinking about moving to Germany or would you like to be unemployed? Don´t think so.

The economy goes down all over the world. Besides: what do you think would happen if a whole lot of people would think like you do? Grmany, the land where milk and honey come as dewfrom the trees. Not gonna happen. We had a high unemployment rate (~10%) even before the economy went down, and it is in recline now. With all the extra paper work an employer would have to do to hire you, and the insecurities due to differeces in the educational system and job hierarchies, and with many people to choose from who all apply for the same job, I’m sorry to say your chances would not be good.
You would need a job first to apply for a visa, and who is going to give you a job if they can’t be sure you will get a visa… Still not something in your favor…

It will be very difficult, make no mistake about that. If you decide to do it: Good Luck!

No matter if you pick up the language or not, if they know you’re American..they probably won’t speak German to you! Not in a mean way, but that is what happens with me normally.
    God bless & Frohe Weinachten:)!
